Success Story

Help Make Outdoor Sports Accessible to Everyone!

Adaptive Adventures Toronto, ON

Thank you so much for supporting my fundraiser - the money you helped me raise is going to a great cause. And a big thanks to Spy Optic!A friend of mine suffers from muscular dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair since childhood. I can't imagine how happy she would be if she could go skiing or biking. It would be great if more charities like Adaptive Adventures were in our area. Hopefully Adaptive Adventures will be able to help more people with this donation.  Thanks again!Steph

SPY Athletes for Action: Jeremy McGrath for Be The Match For Be The Match National Marrow Donor Program Minneapolis, MN

Many of you know about my wife Kim’s struggle with leukemia. On July 27th, Kim was the recipient of a bone marrow transplant, the procedure we’d hoped and prayed for. It’s been a truly rough road, and our family will be forever grateful for the gift of life given to us through a marrow donor, a total stranger. We learned that every year, there are 10,000 patients who need marrow transplants, but many don’t receive them due to the high cost of testing and registering potential donors. We were lucky. Now it’s our turn to help. Join me, SPY and my fellow athletes in raising money for Be The Match, the amazing organization that enabled Kim’s transplant. Our goal is to raise $10,000. It’s super easy: buy a $40 SPY gift certificate and Be The Match gets $20. Join our team and you can sell the gift certificates to your friends using the easy share tools. You and your friends get $40 to spend on rad SPY gear, and you help Be The Match. Plus, SPY is offering awesome prizes for the top fundraisers. Help us make sure everyone out there who needs a life-saving transplant, gets one. The Foundation’s Clean Water initiative focuses on protecting water quality in coastal watersheds and in the near-shore marine environment. The Beach Preservation initiative focuses on protecting beaches through conservation and responsible coastal management that avoids the creation of coastal hazards or erosion problems, and supports research and science-based management of coastal resources to promote sustainable, long term planning and preservation of beach environments including public access. The Foundation’s Beach Access initiative promotes the right to low-impact, free and open access to the world’s waves and beaches for all people. The Foundation’s Special Places initiative is designed to identify and protect ocean and coastal places through the establishment of marine protected areas. Help Make Outdoor Sports Accessible to Everyone! For Adaptive Adventures Toronto, ON

My team and I are raising money for Adaptive Adventures, a Denver based charity providing outdoor sports activities for children, adults and veterans with physical disabilities. With each purchase of a Spy gift card, Spy will donate $20 to our fundraiser. Adaptive Adventures is a program designed to allow people with  a wide range of physical disabilities, like spinal cord injuries and amputations, to realize their dreams. Through the program, participants use adaptive equipment to experience outdoor sports. Developing athletic skills helps build confidence and independence, inspiring people to pursue goals in all areas of their lives.
